I enjoy your videos but there is something about your writing style that I connect to very much - I now it sounds bizarre, but I feel calm after reading you, and reassured. I'm currently reading Olivia Laing's Funny Weather: Art in an Emergency, which I've fallen deep into, and am listening to Hisham Matar's A Month in Siena, which again feels necessary right now. The Laing book I've heard talked about is Lonely City but, while I've looked into it in the past, I've never read her. Your endorsement had me borrowing Funny Weather and I'd love to chat about it with you if you're open :)
Also, random thing: I almost bought Hisham Matar's Anatomy of a Disappearance at the KMS sale but, seeing as you've expanded my TBR, I'll listen to A Month in Siena soon.

I was not aware that Matar wrote novels, I had only heard of his non-fiction (the Siena book but also The Return which sounds like the non-fiction version of Anatomy of a Disappearance, i.e. his memoir of his efforts to trace his father back in Libya, after the latter was kidnapped in Egypt by supporters of the Gaddafi regime and flown back (presumably) to Libya only to then disappear. Anyway, I hope you enjoy listening to the Siena book, I really enjoyed his voice - narrative and otherwise. PS: I've started on my kindle Confessions of an Alleged Good Girl because of your recommendation in a previous video, and really enjoying it - thank you!
