Reader,
My memoir era is over and I have had to remember that there is more non-fiction under the sun than memoirs. This was highlighted by listening to The Cancer Journals by Audre Lorde earlier this week and realising that there is something of social analysis that I crave in personal writing.
I don’t have much to say this week (one of those weeks, besties!) so I’ll leave you with this set of posters. Please join us tomorrow if you can!
I finished 5 books last week: Marriage Be Hard: 12 Conversations to Keep You Laughing, Loving, and Learning with Your Partner by Kevin Fredericks & Melissa Fredericks (read by the authors), Funny Weather: Art in an Emergency by Olivia Laing (read by Sophie Aldred), A Prayer for the Crown-Shy (Monk & Robot#2) by Becky Chambers (read by Em Grosland), Ducks: Two Years in the Oil Sands by Kate Beaton and Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo (read by the author & Melania Luisa Marte). I discuss them in the latest video.
As ever, please write back to me and tell me what books you’re reading or looking forward to reading this week — it’s always a great time talking about books.
Enjoy the rest of the week and have a lovely time reading. Talk to you soon!
